Takeoff Overlay

Oftentimes during the course of a construction project the architect or engineer will issue a new blueprint to replace a previously issued blueprint with updates or changes to the plan. In the past this would require that the takeoff be done over again on the new blueprint page. Effective October 15, 2011 you can now pick up the entire takeoff from one page and move it to the new page using Cloud Takeoff. As long as the newly issued plan page is the same size and scale as the original, you will be able to see exactly what has changed relative to your original takeoff. To accomplish this follow these simple instructions:
  • Upload the new version of the construction blueprint (modify the name slightly to reflect the new issue)
  • Next in the plan list inside of Cloud Takeoff, point at the original plan, and you will see a small gear appear near the right side of the plan list, click once on this gear icon. Choose the option to move your takeoff.
  • You are now presented with a new box that contains a list of all the plans in your project. Click to select the newly uploaded plan.
  • Now click the Move button.
Your original takeoff will move to the exact same location(s) on the new blueprint page and you can easily see the required changes and modify your takeoff as required.
