Using Cloud Takeoff to takeoff structural steel is fast and easy without the expense of printing blueprints!
In order to begin your first structural steel takeoff, log into Cloud Takeoff and create the project on your Bid Calendar. Next click to open the project and upload your plans which you may have downloaded from any website, FTP site, CD or email attachment.
Create your first Condition and list the various shapes, widths, weights and any other variables you wish to keep track of, potentially including such things as location, etc.
Don't worry about including every possible size and weight, you can always update your Condition as needed on future jobs. Takeoff the first beam with the Poly line tool and then click on the duplicate tool to drop a duplicate of the first beam anywhere you have an identical beam, using only a single click. Click to change the width/depth/weight and draw the next beam, much like using colored pencils to markup your plan. At any point you can see exactly what remains to be counted or measured on the plan.

Design your conditions to enable you to group the material as needed. If you wish to keep track of each piece by location or floor simply add an option set to designate the location of each member. Within the Measured Values window your material may be listed, grouped or organized any way you like. You may also see each beam or column listed as it's own line item and click the magnifying glass to instantly locate a specific structural steel member on the plan.
All of your data is easily imported into Excel using our Excel Add-In for Windows users or easily copy / paste for MAC users. Within your spreadsheet you can instantly determine your total weight or pounds of steel needed, grouped, sorted or listed anyway you wish.
